Terms & Conditions: The House Rules
(Or, how to keep this community helpful and headache-free)
Welcome to the fine print. I’m Ben Aristo, and if you’re reading this, you’re likely a student, a parent, or a fellow creative using ArtSchoolsLists.com. By hanging out here, you’re agreeing to a few basic rules. Think of this like a studio contract: it’s here to make sure everyone plays fair so we can all get back to the important stuff—like getting you into art school.
1. You Agree to These Rules Just by Being Here
By browsing this site, you’re saying “Yes” to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, that’s okay, but you’ll need to stop using the site. We update these rules occasionally (the world of education moves fast!), so checking back here every once in a while is a good move.
2. Our Content Is Ours (Intellectual Property)
I spend a lot of time researching, writing, and over-caffeinating to create the guides on this site.
-
The Rules: You can’t copy, sell, or “scrape” our content to build your own site or business without my written permission.
-
The Exception: You are absolutely encouraged to share links to our articles on social media or with your friends. If you’re a teacher and want to print an article for your classroom, go for it—just keep my name and the site link on there so people know where it came from.
3. Be a Decent Human (User Conduct)
We want this to be a supportive space. If you’re using our comment sections or forums, here’s the deal:
-
No Spam: Don’t use our site to sell your “get rich quick” schemes.
-
No Hate: We have zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, or discrimination. This is a place for creators.
-
No Bots: Using automated tools to crawl or “heavy load” our site is a big no-no. It slows things down for real students who actually need the info.
4. No Professional Advice (The “I’m Your Mentor, Not Your Lawyer” Rule)
I’m an education researcher and advisor, but I’m not your personal lawyer, financial planner, or doctor.
-
The information here is for educational and informational purposes only. * While I give you the best data available in 2025, you should always verify tuition, deadlines, and requirements directly with the schools themselves. Your decisions are your own!
5. Account Security
If we ever offer a “Member Area” or account feature, you’re responsible for keeping your password secret. If you give your login to a stranger and they mess up your profile, I can’t really help you there. Keep your “digital keys” safe.
6. Third-Party Links
I link to a lot of cool stuff—RISD’s application portal, Adobe’s software, art supply shops. I don’t own those sites. If you click a link and something goes wrong on their end, you’ll need to take it up with them. I’m the bridge, not the destination.
7. Limitation of Liability
In “lawyer speak,” this means I’m not responsible if you use this site and don’t get the result you wanted (like getting rejected from a school or missing a deadline). I provide the tools and the research, but the application process is ultimately in your hands. To the maximum extent permitted by law, ArtSchoolsLists.com won’t be liable for any “oops” moments that happen during your art school journey.
8. Termination
If someone is being a total nightmare—spamming, hacking, or being abusive—I reserve the right to block their access to the site. I hope I never have to do it, but I’ll protect this community if I have to.
9. Governing Law
We’re operating under the laws of [Insert Your Country/State]. If we ever have a legal disagreement (which I hope we don’t!), that’s where the conversation will happen.
10. How to Reach Me
Got a question about these rules? Or maybe you think one of them is unfair? I’m all ears.
